Which sunset catamaran in the Bay of Cádiz is worth booking?
Updated October 22, 2026 · 5 min read
Cádiz sits on a peninsula in the Atlantic, and the best evenings here are spent on the water. If you book one boat trip here, make it a sunset one. The Sunset Catamaran Cruise with Historic Landmark Views is the one most people choose: from €24.50 for 1.5 hours, 4.6 stars from 882 reviews, with a cava on board according to the listing.
What you can choose from
| Tour | Duration | From | Rating | Reviews | Best for |

| Sunset cruise with a glass of cava from Barbate | 1.5 hours | €24 | 4.4 | 284 | A different coast, see below |
| Private sunset yacht cruise for up to 6 | 2 hours | €179.10 per group | 4.8 | 22 | A small group wanting privacy |
The sunset cruise from Cádiz
The listing describes an evening on the Bay of Cádiz and the Atlantic aboard a modern catamaran, with views of the city’s landmarks and a cava on board. Of the three boats booked per person, it has the most reviews and the best rating. Read the recent reviews on the booking page before you decide.
The shorter daytime catamaran
The 75-minute catamaran tour with a host is not a sunset trip as listed. It sails the bay past La Caleta beach or Constitution Bridge “as conditions allow”, tells the maritime history of the city and has an onboard bar where drinks and snacks are bought separately. It is cheaper, shorter and more casual. The important line is “as conditions allow”: the route depends on the weather and sea, so do not count on a particular view.
The Barbate cruise is on another coast
The Barbate sunset cruise goes to Cape Trafalgar, not the Bay of Cádiz. It costs about the same, lasts the same time and has a lower rating. Barbate is a separate town you must travel to by car or bus, so it only makes sense if you are already staying on that stretch of coast. It is not a Cádiz evening.
The private yacht
The private yacht cruise is priced per group of up to six, from €179.10, on a yacht the listing gives as 12 metres long. With six people that is roughly €30 each, which is not far above the catamaran, but with only 22 reviews the high 4.8 is less reliable. Fewer than six makes it expensive per person.
Check these before you book
- Sunset time. It changes by about three and a half hours across the year, from roughly 6 pm in midwinter to just before 10 pm in midsummer. Use the departure time on the booking page, not our rough guide, and ask whether the cruise is timed to the sunset on your date.
- Meeting point. The listings we have do not give it, so check it and the arrival time on the booking page.
- Weather and cancellation. Wind and sea can stop a boat. Read the cancellation terms and what happens if the operator cancels.
- Drinks. The sunset cruise lists a cava on board. On the daytime catamaran, drinks are bought on board.
- Seasickness. If you are prone to it, ask a pharmacist or doctor before you travel. Without any remedy, sitting near the middle of the boat and looking at the horizon helps.
Making an evening of it
Book the sunset slot and be at the meeting point in good time. If you plan to spend the day in the city first, our one-day plan ends at La Caleta and fits well before a cruise.
Our recommendation
For most visitors, book the Sunset Catamaran Cruise. Choose the shorter catamaran tour if you want daytime and a lower price, and the private yacht only for a full group.
